Everyone takes care of the big day. The venue was booked months ago, the negafa is chosen, the caterer for the reception too. Then someone finally asks the question nobody saw coming: what about all the other meals? The henna night, lunch for the relatives coming down from Casablanca or flying in from abroad, the meal where the two families finally sit together, the one the day after when nobody has the energy to cook. That is where wedding family meals in Agadir get complicated: those meals are nobody's job.
At Madina, in Haut Founty, that is the gap we fill. Our kitchen runs every day from 8am to midnight, with more than 130 Moroccan and Italian dishes, all of it halal. Two ways to do it: you host with us, in a space of your own, or we cook the meal and deliver it ready to serve wherever the family has gathered.
The meals nobody plans for before a wedding
A Moroccan wedding is never one evening. It is a whole week in which the family home never empties. These are the moments families call us about:
- The henna night, a smaller gathering that eats late, between trays of mint tea and a great deal of music.
- The welcome meal for relatives who have travelled, usually the day they arrive, when the hostess already has a hundred things on her mind.
- The two families meeting, a calm lunch or dinner where the point is to host well without spending the day at the stove.
- The day after the wedding, when the guests from out of town are still here, exhausted, and still need feeding.
And if it is the khotba that is coming up rather than the wedding itself, we have a whole page on the engagement party buffet in Agadir: same logic, slightly different mood.
What we do, and what we don't
Let's be clear straight away. We have no reception hall, no decorator, and we do not take on a reception for several hundred guests. For that you need a proper wedding caterer.
What we do have is a restaurant kitchen running from morning to midnight, and the capacity to cook in volume without the quality falling apart. There is nobody standing between the chef and your table: no subcontractor, no kitchen rented for the occasion. For the family-sized meals around a wedding, that is exactly what you want.
Hosting with us, in a room of your own
Moving one of these meals out of the house is one job less to worry about.
Our private mezzanine seats up to 20 people, which is the right size for the two families meeting or for the welcome meal. When the table grows, the larger room on the ground floor takes over. A television is available if you want to run through photos of the preparations, the Wi-Fi is free, and the terrace stays open for tea outside. The details of our spaces are on the private room page.
Or at home, delivered ready to serve
During a wedding week the family home stays the centre of everything. In that case we cook the meal and deliver it to you ready to serve. We bring hot-hold equipment, so the last guest through the door eats at the same temperature as the first one served — that is where delivered meals usually go wrong, never in the cooking.
Our staff can stay on site to serve, which changes the day entirely for a mother who is supposed to be enjoying her son's wedding. And if you would rather not face a mountain of washing-up once everyone has left, disposable plates and cutlery can be included. We deliver across Agadir and the nearby coast: Haut Founty, Founty, Talborjt, Cité Dakhla, Hay Mohammadi and the whole Agadir Bay area, plus Inezgane and Dcheira, and up the coast to Aourir, Tamraght and Taghazout.
What goes on the table
For a family meal around a wedding, people expect the dishes that reassure: Moroccan salads to open, pastilla cut into portions, tajines, grills and brochettes. Rfissa and seffa belong on those days too — the dishes of a reunion, the ones the older generation asks for. And if your meal falls on a Friday, couscous makes the decision for you.
Then there are the children and younger cousins in every family who will not touch a tajine. For them, the same kitchen turns out wood-fired pizzas, fresh pasta and burgers. Everything is halal, no alcohol, so there is nothing to check before inviting the in-laws. For a wider spread, see our page on the group buffet in Agadir.
Every wedding has its own rhythm and a guest list that keeps moving until the last minute. That is why everything is quoted individually: tell us the date, how many of you there will be, where you are hosting and what you would like to see on the table. WhatsApp is easiest — write to us on +212 5283-81269, or email contact@madinaagadir.com. Have a look through our menu of 130+ dishes, then fill in the request a quote form, and save your energy for the wedding rather than the meals around it.
